Rozanne Hermelyn Di Silvestro
Since I can remember, I have painted, drawn and have followed my passion for the
arts. I was intrigued with the commercial art world and worked at several design
studios in Los Angeles and San Francisco after receiving degrees in Design from
UCLA and from Art Center College of Design. In 1989, I started my own design firm
in San Francisco and taught at the Academy of Art University. My design clients are as
diverse as my work, a few of my clients include Hewlett-Packard, Ernst & Young,
Sutter Home Winery, Mervyn’s and the Salvation Army.
Owning my own design firm has given me insight into the commercial aspects of the
art world as well as the power of the visual message. In this electronic world today, we
are overwhelmed with images everywhere. The influence is tremendous and growing
with the new generation of children.
My shift of focus into fine art was a personal shift and progression of my artwork.
I felt a sense of responsibility to create meaningful images that would slow one down
for a prolonged moment to listen and enjoy. My portfolio of work includes a variety of
processes and mediums but my concentration is on printmaking monotypes.
